add water steam engine problems.

I'm new to the steam engine driving experience so please excuse me if this sounds silly but.... How do I add water? Using the keypad (DCC MODE) if I use the injector controls (I/O) seems to have no effect. The water lever steadily falls to 0% and the engine stops. The tender is full of water and coal. What am I missing? I tried to have the injector knob at 100% 50% 0%, no effect. Thanks in advance.

You can't add water while in DCC mode. You can only do these effects in Cab Mode.

cab mode, my bad. The mode that shows all the pretty sliders vs one knob
