Account Login = not working BUT....

I can't LOGIN to Trainz/N3V. However, I can access this forum and TS2091 & TS2022.
So my login, it seems, is only partially bad. Is the Help-Desk process the only way to get this fixed?
I become very nervous when N3V and passwords are in the same subject.
I could end up with being blocked and a "we have no record of you" as an attempt to login
to report the problem. Or, in effect, total loss of my account and all of my work.

Not sure if this would help!

Disconnect your internet
Load up Trainz
Trainz Settings
My Trainz
Delete your Trainz Account
Exit Trainz

Connect to the internet
Load up Trainz
Trainz Settings
My Trainz
Enter your Trainz account details
.... Hopefully, it should work ... ?

I don't think that you would had lost your Trainz account, it could had been caused by the internet dropping out or maybe even if you have changed your password within the last 24 hours or so.

Thanks - but deleting the account, when the account management seems to be a problem, is too dangerous. The N3V program is the primary element in my life. If it disappears, I am in trouble. The old adage - let sleeping "bugs" lay.

What time did this occur?

I was setting up Trainz on my new laptop. I tried multiple times and each try had a different reason and I received the following messages multiple times after multiple tries:

- My account was unknown
- Unable to log me in even though it found me.
- Unable to authorise my copy due to credentials not matching the installation.

When I was about to give up, everything worked.

This was about 2:30 (14:30) EST.

My error appears when I try to Login to my account from the My Account at the top of this page. It displays my login name and a jumbled password. I click login and it says Login Failed. My only logical guess is that is N3V's way of try to tell me I am already logged in. Regardless I am not taking this further since my personal risk is too high. If I was 20 years younger I would dig in and risk the account disappearing.

Clear your browser cache. Sometimes, the data is stale and needs to be cleared, or the DNS servers reset and the data has to be rebuilt. I had the same issue recently and clearing my browser fixed not only this site login but also some on other sites I sign into.

Try to delete cookies from this site in your browser. This will not delete the password and login, but will only need to log in to the site again.

I want to thank everyone for the inputs. Since I am totally paranoid about any changes not managed and tested by N3V I guess I will just continue "as is". After years in hardware and software beginning in 1962 I have learned that a change to A, intended to fix B can also have widespread effects. Often there is no knowledge on how many functions depend on a certain value. As you write the code you innocently just check a field in the course of your process. Another programmer may also use that field, then another, the only documentation is the listing of the code. So, again thanks for the inputs, but with no tested process, specifically intended to manage logins, I believe the risk outweighs any benefits - which is only - peace of mind.

Norton Security software wiped out access to TRS19 and 22. For awhile access to the forum was not available.
I believed I had "disappeared". Then clicking around some info on my account and following the trail I ended up here.

Since the normal link to both 19 &22 disappeared I have no access to TRS19 or TRS22..
The C:\Program Files\N3V Games folder is empty.

The background is Norton Security program did a file cleaning and decided some file that held the links to these programs were junk. Links to(and) both programs were wiped. I hate to play the age card but the clarity of situations like this can be difficult to piece together.

I have CDPs. I stumbled across a link that allows me to download TRS22. That download is underway. 35 minutes was the predicted load time. now at 13 minutes remaining. Download complete and Trains 2022 loaded and working. Now have to get MY route loaded. Very stressful.

Norton is notorious for killing Trainz. I highly recommend excluding your program and your data-folder from Norton because that will kill the program and may possibly corrupt your data as it scans the assets as they are opened. If this doesn't occur, then Trainz will run like a$$ to put it bluntly as Norton checks each asset as it's loaded.
