A question-please read

Hello all,

I have a question:

On some routes based on real places, i've seen a "texture" on the board featuring buildings, roads, track etc viewed from above (like google maps in satellite mode).

Can any tell me how to do this?

I think people are using TrainzDem or Basemaps to display the Google Earth images.

Chris,

I think what you are seeing in those "images" are coloured lines that represent something like Blue = Rivers.

There are two systems to do this and I have very little knowledge about either one of them.

One is the one John mentioned and is a Payware system and the other is a DEM/Hog based system. The second one is free, but maybe not as good or as easy to use.

A search on the forum will help you find either one of them.

There are many routes on the DLS for these, look up "fishlipsatwork".
