a little help on hdd /trainz setup

thanks in advance for looking , my question is if i install a velociraptor 10.000 rpm drive for trainz will it run @10.000 or will it be retarded by my raid 0 set on twin 7200rpm? what i'm asking will i get the performance out ot the faster drive or will it get bottle necked?

G'day bunkerrattmk2, provided the velociraptor is on it's own cable pluged into the motherboard it will perform as a velociraptor. I have a raid 0 setup for my MSTS installs and a velociraptor for trainz and no problems.

thank's i'll leave the O S on the raid set and setup the new drive with only a trainz install ,i'm thinking of getting 75 gb velociraptor's and making a raid 0 set for trainz only.if so i'll use one of the other controller's on the board

G'day bunkerrattmk2, I have a 600gig velociraptor I was thinking of setting up raid with two but was advised that there would be no advantage in it.
