A Bit Annoyed with the DLS

Why bother Paul? They wont understand that the RETAIL Price isn't the same as the wholesale that the marketers get. Everything is just rosy in their math world..Auran has millions of dollars to play with..thats why they were bought by N3? I'm surpised they don't want the program free as well as the DLS..

I think its crazy that i bought a first class ticket to download stuff and its crazy that i not able to use it does anybody no if they give refunds so stupid you cant use a download area when you pay for it

I'm assuming you are not aware of a process you need to do after buying a FCT.

1.Make sure you have activated it in your profiles (it will be on your Download Tickets page - if it does not have green text next to it, click the Activate link that appears)
2.Change your password - you can use the same one.
3.If you are using TRS2006 or later, clear out your download helper list in Content Manager if you have any items in the list.

Firstly, make sure Trainz is not running during this proceedure.

You will need to do the password change in your profile - click Profile above, log in if needed, then click Edit Account on the left.

There will be an edit link next to Password - click that, and fill in the form (you can use the same password).

If you do decide to choose a new password, you will need to make the same change in Content Manager and the Trainz Launcher options screen.

ok i just changed password in all areras and have checked under content manager and under settings internet it does say now how many days i have left under ticket status but stil when i press download on an item it still gives me a page saying

Most likely cause:

Sounds to me like you're running Vista or Windows 7 and not installed or running trainz as administrator.

It is utterly critical with Vista/7 that you install and run trainz as an administrator, otherwise various things will not work right, download helper being one of them.

So what? That does not bother me. I do admit that I really was only saying ditto at the "GOOD GRIEF" part of the quote, so I should not have quoted the entire message. I do not use ignore lists, so appreciate that I do not. I believe that you may very well be putting other users who say thing that you do not like on your ignore list not really that much because you really do not want to see their messages (i. e. that you are really sensitive to it). I believe that you might be doing it just to bring down those users. Well, I am not sensitive to that stuff, and have not been offended or bothered by it.

Any way, you just seem to be the type that is either in denial of or can not possibly see that you could actually do any thing wrong. Instead, you try to blame others for doing wrong, when it is really you who has actually done something wrong. Poeple like that can also often make excuses for themselves when they are accused of doing wrong. I live with a family member who is like that--denying/not seeing that he does wrong, and making excuses for himself when he is confronted with doing something wrong that he truthfully did to.

So, again, you are not on my ignore list. Be glad for that. How ever, you behavior and attitude toward stuff like this is wrong.

They say that people will show their true colors eventually. It is amazing and interesting that your user title of "Grumpy Old B*****d" really does seem to match your attitude at times, such as this.

Boy do I feel dumb!

There was I thinking that Auran had overheads like wages, rent for offices, coffee etc when in fact Trainz is programmed by unpaid slaves working under a bridge presumably trapped in some sort of giant hamster wheel to generate electricity for their stolen computers amd using pirated software.

Under those circumstances I think we should not be surprised when the odd bug creeps into the code, it must be really difficult to type accurately when you have to run on the spot all day.

Thanks for the lesson in basic economics, first thing on Monday I'll suggest to BMW that they adopt an similar business model to maximise their profits. The amazing thing is that they haven't thought of this idea themselves.

Come on.... you must not have any idea on what you're talking about and you seem to be the typcal troll. I know what it takes to run a business I Own One! If they blew $25 million+ on wages and overheads... then there is something wrong... other than the fact of making people buy a "membership" to download things other people have built for free. I know some of the people that built the game And most of them regulate the site from their home. When Auran first stated out they had 40 people and quite a few games on the market, and TRS alone Banked for them. Ray Charles could see what is goiong on with picture. And yeah, get on the phone with BMW... HA! You've probley never even sat in one let alone know someone owns one or to top it off call someone that works there... rrriiiiggghhhttt.

At last I have found a fellow Trainzer that does not have an ignore list. I find it very depressing on the forum of late to see other members seemingly proud of their ignore lists. These members seemingly do not wish to hear any other opinion than that of their own.

Every day at the moment on the international news we see people and whole nations fighting for the rights of free speech and free association. These are basic rights that we take so much for granted in Western countries that we decide to block each other in that right.

No matter how much I disagree with someone on the forum or how offensive I find his/her remarks I will always allow them to address me through these threads.

A very famous person once said "I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend with my life your right to say it" something well worth thinking about I believe in these very troubled and insecure times.

OMG I have not been on this forum for over three years and after reading the above posts re this thread I know why I have not. The ongoing DLS issue does not only occur in our particular hobby if you like but forever present in other game formats as well . Welcome to being involved with a GAME that does require some gratitude from the people who work tirelessly to make everyone happy. Happy Trainzing and I might come back in onother 3 years to catch up on DLS issues , I am sure the posts will be the same!!!!!

I promote the use of the list for those that are so sensitive that others ruin their enjoyment of the forums. If you don't want to use it, that's great, but I find nothing wrong with it. As a former trainz mariner who navigated the stormy textured animated flat seas of Trainz for many, many, years, I must admit it is certainly worth reading the posts on this forum....but only for the humour...and greetings to Alberte. .

You are forgetting financing the projects that made a loss (such as Fury) as well. Trainz is not the only product Auran have and at the end of the day it's the overall result that counts, not what the individual projects have made.

Actually (although it's not relevant to anything going on here) as a member of one the (many) teams involved in developing new products for BMW I have sat in BMWs that you don't even know exist and had one of my own until my future ex-wife bounced it off the crash barriers on the Autobahn.

If you don't believe me call the main BMW switchboard in Munich (0049 89 382-0) and ask for Paul Hobbs, department EK-522 (but tell them I'm an external worker otherwise they'll probably look me up in the wrong list).

I certainly won't be putting you on my ignore list, I'll be adding you to my buddy list so I don't miss any of your future gems of wisdom.
