3D Model Software?

Hi

I am just awaiting my copy of TS2010 in the post, but wanted to look at modelling too. What is the easiest modelling program for a newbie to get into using?

I've seen references to GMax and 3DS Max, but have never used a 3D Model application. I'm an old school script programmer, so modelling is alien to me.

Thanks in advance!

Gmax is certainly easier to use from the starting point, but if you're starting from scratch in modelling, and if you can handle Hotkeys, then there's a program called Blender which is apparently a better and more reliable program.

Solitare, Spider Solitare and Freecell.
Trust me, making cards disappear in stacks is easier, "modeling," than this!:hehe:

Honestly, I don't use it but would suggest going Blender. Free and there are TS2010 exporters for it.
gMax could be used but there are no up to date exporters, I am thinking this may be the cause of a recent problem I have.
3DS costs thousands, even an older copy costs a few hundred and that is if you can find one and activate it.

I think I will give Blender a try, it's free :-) And has an exported. I'll try it then. Thanks for the advice.

I'd suggest Blender, as you get into more complex modelling its easier.

Whilst you're waiting for Trainz to arrive there are a few videos to watch.
