These are some of my other favorites:

I always liked this paint scheme the CB&Q had in the late 60's/early 70's. They also had some GP40's and U28C's in this paint scheme (as far as I know).

46 examples were built between 1946 and 1950. The primary user was the Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway, who owned 27 of them (They replaced the EJ&E's steam fleet in 1949). The rest were owned by the Santa Fe, the "Cotton Belt", the DSS&A/Soo Line, the Minneapolis, Northfield & Southern and the Trona Railway.

In the late 1950s and 1960s, the EJ&E rebuilt most of them with new EMD hoods and engines.

They're usually referred to simply as "center cabs" though apparently, the rebuilt engines were nicknamed "SW2400s". The original 1946 prototype, EJ&E #100, was called the "Golden Goose" and the preserved engine is called the "Blue Dragon".

One example, MN&S #21 survives at the Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL.

Unfortunately, it's suffered some pretty significant engine trouble, so the chances of it running again don't look too good...

AmazingMike modeled one of the rebuilt ones a long time ago...

Whitepass also modeled the very similar (but unique in its own right) Lima-Hamilton "LT-2400" engine.

Without a doubt my favorite semi-streamlined engine is the one and only SP 4449. Non-streamlined comes to ATSF 3751 and UP 844. Freight engines falls to #3985 and Strasburg #90. Fully streamlined engines goes to #611 and the NYC Dreyfuss Hudson 4-6-4s. Mallet engines falls to a few, the NP Z-6, UP 3985, C&O H-8 2-6-6-6, and the one and only N&W 1218.

Well, although it's a fairly decent bump, I'm still gonna post.

Can you guess?

BTW, that train has an HP/T of 0.9, and is about to hit a 3.7% grade...
