Why do screenshots start at Zero, instead of 1?

As the title says, why do screenshots start at Zero, instead of 1? And it's not just this simulator either.

Because 0 is a number, 1 means 1 increment above the base, the base being 0.

It's zero based numbering mostly used by some programming languages, C C+ etc. see here explains it better than I can.

There are many theories about the origin of the term.

I believe, and I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong....that in the USA you enter a building on the 1st floor, then go up to the 2nd floor, whereas in Australia, we enter on the Ground floor and go up to the 1st floor.
Just the way some things are.
