New HD Camcorder

saintjimmy

You! Off my planet.
I've been looking recently at camcorders, specifically HD & flash memory camcorders, but all the ones I've been looking at are out of stock, too expensive, or aren't good quality. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Here is the criteria for the camera:
  • Any make, model, manufacturer, or color. I'm open-minded on this.
  • Has to be HD (1280 x 720 at least, 1920 x 1080 preferred)
  • Under $300
  • Would like to have flash memory, type doesn't matter, like SD or MS Pro-Duo for easy data transfer (also easily upgradeable, like having a 4 GB card and then a 16 GB card as a backup)
  • Pocket or handheld, just not too bulky, and tripod mountable is a must
  • My needs are for casual home/vacation use, possible future school use (for school projects), and occasionally filming trains (but probably rarely) There are 3 HDTV's in the house (Including my monitor as HD), so that's why I'm looking at HD cameras.
  • Also would like to have features like taking pictures while recording, image stablization, and face recognition, but these aren't a must.
  • AA batteries are preferred, but I could work with a rechargeable battery pack.
  • I don't need video editing software. I have Corel Video Studio X2 on my laptop for that (and it has HDMI output!)
I realize those are pretty strict parameters and there won't be many cameras in those categories, so no need to drill me about it.

Here are some I've been looking at that seem more promising than others:

Didn't quite want a pocket style, but it would be handy.

I've heard mixed reviews on this one, the good ones were really good, bad were very bad.

Again, more mixed reviews, but a lot seem to like it.

Seems like the best one out of the four listed (not just because of price, but has good features)

Thanks for advice/comments in advance.
