A sidenote if you are planning to buy Windows Vista

Master of Disaster
I just read an article that was released yesterday and now where Windows Vista SP1 is nearing its release, stating that the Ultimate version becomes useless after installing SP1 I feel somewhat sorry for those who actually bought the Ultimate version.

The only thing that made Vista Ultimate a bit interesting was its "Unique Extras", the animated backgrounds and the Poker game, but now where that "Extras" team has been fired it doesn't make sense anymore.

So, a bit of pricing information now :

Windows Vista Home Basic : 70 €
Windows Vista Home Professional : 90 €
Windows Vista Ultimate : 170 €

Do the math and please don't fall for the "Ultimate is better" hype.

The DreamScene animated backgrounds are a joke too and the "Extra" Poker game is fun for 5 minutes.

Most people should be fine with the Home Basic Version.
Those in the need of Media Center capability should go for the Home Professional edition, but anything else is useless.

In the end it's all your own choice, but I just thought I'd let you know.
Maybe this is helpful for some people which are still uncertain.

And one of the best resources for "Inside Vista" news is the WinSuperSite, which has a nice round-up of Vista SP1's improvements here.
