Have you installed Trainz on a different drive than C ?

And you receive this message when you try to patch the game ?

Failed to patch Data.ja, file contents do not match .

Just move your Trainz installation folder to drive C and run Trainz exe . Wait until the autopatcher finish its work , then move the game folder back to the drive where it was originally installed .

Tested with TS2010 on Win7 x64 .

All you need to do is direct the patcher to for eg E:/ trainz 2012.
The patcher auto looks at the C drive as that is the prefered installation drive.
Myself C drive only holds the O/S and system essentials and drivers.

All I did was copy the Trainz folder to my new SSD. Works as before but a little faster.

My current install is a copy of an install I did over 2 years ago. I keep it on a separate drive and then recreate the shortcuts to it when I rebuild my machine. I also make diff-copies to an external device daily and use the external drive with my laptop.

Works great.
