mango madness
hi all,
by the life of me i can't get mojave sub to run any better than 18 frps sometimes down to 6 frps
there's no great detail to the route, trees, buildings, etc
in my wisom i imported marias pass full version into 012 to see if big routes are a problem
marias pass is a big route,a billion trees, change all the track using mojave sub track, and all the rolling stock i'm using in mojave sub and it runs like a clock in marias pass,no less than 25frps
my computer is well above minuim specs
any how any ideas would be most greatful

cheers,
patchy

I haven't looked at the route yet, but sometimes creators leave items such as rulers while working in surveyor. They can drag down performance. I doubt that is the case, but have a look anyway, maybe in wireframe mode.

I had a similar problem in just one area of the route I'm building, I changed trees, track splines removed virtually everything no difference, until I replaced one of the ground textures after which it returned to acceptable frame rates. Worth looking at I guess?

Been playing/researching usable track this afternoon to see which gives the best FPS.
1-CHN wooden 03, 83 fps. 2-Any HP track, 53 fps. 3-CHN Concrete03 low subgrade, 50 fps. 4-JR Dk grey, 49 fps. 5-RRS track low poly, 48 fps. After that very similar results.
All FPS taken in hazard yard (EK3) from the same spot, used the developer tool to judge when all assets had been taken into account.ie when it stopped recording details.
I was originally using track which gave 43 FPS in hazard.
Change the track to CHN wooden 03, kuid 276266:1097. Looks good close up, best used in tracking mode.
Running EK3 with speed trees I've upped my FPS from mid 20's-35 to 50+, a tad less in tracking mode, in DX. 3500m draw, scenery, texture and train detail high.
Odd thing is the new track shows a much higher buffer count than the old, which kicks the lower count theory right out the window.

i'm getting some useful info here
i'm leaning towards the texture theory at this time
my ek3 runs like a clock
i'll have a scratch around today and see if i can find anything:confused:

My EK3 ran fine I was just messing around looking for an FPS improvement, Have just been running 2 EK3 sessions, leaving beech fork tipple towards dent yard, same locos+hoppers. CHN track 35 fps, my old track 25 fps. 40% gain.
I'll probably go for the JR Dk grey or the RRS track in the end which may give me 28-29 fps. Anything over 20 I don't think the eye can spot the change.

Watch the track height

If you go for track change make sure your next to some wagons or loco. If you use higher track your wagons disappear. Go into map view and they are still there.
Bet that's been the cause of invisible consists.
