Hi.

As I really hate Vista, I greatly hope TS2009 will be able to run either on XP or Vista. Does Tony mentionned on which OS it will run yet?

Andre.

Im hopeing for XP also. Vista is crap. I dont think that there are any Vista only games out there yet and i hope that there will never be. XP is superior in every way.

Vista is not that HARD,
Just a differant way of doing things....which makes you think about what you are doing.

I find that trainz runs well on it, if it is correctly installed.

One thing i have to do is close down Seti@Home to be able to run Trainz at it's best speed.:D

EndItAll

The best way to run Trainz is to do your Internet business first then close the connection and run EndItAll to end as many background programs as possible, you then have a lot more power to your elbow, or in this case forefinger.

Many years ago, when my now non-existing machine running win98 se , i used to run EndItAll and it did a great job.

I belive it not nessecerry now(bad spelling i know:o )

Have more then enough power to run trainz with a whole heap of programs running, BUT, Seti@Home is just to much. with it running on all four CPU's it does take a lot from power from Trainz.:'( :hehe:

Holy heaven's......................

Now, while I'll admit that Tony & "the boys" have made a few fow-pa's in recent times, do you really think that Tony/Auran would design TRS2009 to only run on VISTA when 80%+ of his/there client base (the community) are still running XP.
TRS2009 will run on both XP & VISTA.... (That you can bet your house on).............
Hopefully this answers your question Andre.
Have a good one. Cheers, Mac.

I am sure TS2009 will be able to run on both XP and Vista. If Auran made TS2009 a Vista only game, they would effectively cut off over half of the Trainz users. The Vista users, as far as I can tell, are a minority, of which I am one.

Yes for sure you answered my question. Thats a really good news. All of you are right, its only a minority using Vista and Auran would lost too much client.

I'm one of the minority as well and Trainz runs well under Vista 64-bit to boot!

There are a few games out there Vista only now. Cant name them though...

I too run Vista on 32 bit and only problem I have is deleting assests.tdx and .bku everytime after opening CMP and trying to go into Trainz.

Cheers,
Adam

I've never had that problem, but I run CMP seperately from Trainz because I found the performance to be better than having it run under the launcher. This was even before I upgraded to Vista 64-bit.

It's easy to do. Open up the C:\Program Files\Auran\TRS2006\Bin folder (or wherever you installed Trainz to).

You'll see the CMP icon. Create a shortcut for it and move it to your your desktop.

Go to the properties on the shortcut, and make sure it is set to run as Administrator.

You're then good to go.

My guess and it is a good guess is that for the next couple of years. PC games will be made for both XP and vista. My guess is by 2011, Most games will be for vista only.
