Found a decent chart re train loads,

Having hauled 1040 tons using an 8f on the settle - carlisle run, speed was down to 8mph using full blowers which would clog up the line.
Using this chart for a T.E. of 34000lbs I find 660 tons to be more appropriate for the 1% gradient.
Are that figure more to real life?
