Wont Work -- Help!!

Another weird quirk -- when I go to look at my collection of rolling stock, the interior of the building renders and I can look around inside the building. This seems to be the only place where any textures render at all. But there are no trains present and none on the list to add.

I will assume that you are referring to the Trainz component known as "Railyard". Check in the 2010 Trainz Directory to see if you have a folder named "builtin". that is where your Trainz assets, Locomotives, rolling stock, etc reside until you load them into the game in some manner.

Hi,

Welcome!

Just a thought - I'm running Trend AV software, and I've added the whole of my Trainz directories to the "trusted" folders - that means that they are not checked by the Anti Virus software on load - so no pemission problems, also Trainz (and content manager) are allowed to connect to the internet.

Try the equivalent of these setting!

When you re-installed, did you remove the first installation using the windows add/remove routine? If not you may still have the original, maybe corrupted, settings in the windows registry.

Install with anti-virus turned off.

I suggest trying again (and registering on the Planet Auran profile).

Ah -- this time it worked! Not sure why. Graphics look a bit weak though. I suspect I need to upgrade my graphics card.

That is good news, there are some ways of fine tuning 2010 by using the sliders under the "Options" selection on the launch menu. Some of these are trial and error depending on your system however some people here are more knowledgeable then me in this area. You can also add some lines/details to a file in 2010 called "trainzoptions" that may help as well. Again others may be better to advise on these though a search of the forum will bring up threads with a lot of help. Posting your full computer details will help others help you better as well.

It would be interesting to hear how you installed 2010 this time so as to help others in a similar situation to yours.

It seems you "dear old mum" (quote) has done very well and you did receive a legit copy, just being able to register showed that.

Oh, and say good bye to your mum and family as your life has now been taken over by the "Trainz Bug" and it will interfere with a lot of things, your social life, family life, education life, sleeping life, and just life in general :hehe:

what people should do is run a memory test on there ram and make sure there is no fault there ,the program is call memtest download it and run it .

Installed as Administrator directly from the installer on the disk. Then run as Administrator directly from the .exe in the installed folder.
