windows vista railway sim 2006?

Grant,

I downloaded the manual from here but it doesn't mention the graphics much. As feared, there's no mention at all of being able to fit another video board.

There's a section in the manual entitled "Selecting Display Modes" but that only seems to be related to using an external monitor.

I did find this in the troubleshooting section near the end: "On some VAIO models, the graphics memory is shared with the system. The optimal graphic performance in this case is not guaranteed." But it doesn't say whether that applies to your model, nor whether you can do anything about it if it does apply.

One other thought, maybe Trainz would run at its lower screen resolution setting. If you can get into the Trainz Configuration option, try reducing it to 800 x 600 instead of the usual 1024 x 768. This will greatly reduce the amount of video memory required. Sorry if you've already tried that. If you can't get into that option, then it's also possible to do it by editing the trainzoptions.txt file using the Notepad program. Add this command, on a line by itself, anywhere in the file:
-800

Indeed
But if you reread what I said its the same as what you said.
Concerntrate:D
Anyway I recon hes got it sorted in DX
cause he has stoped asking questions.
Consider yourself lucky sis don't update their drivers there are some AGP and IDE drivers from sis that just break 98
I'd scorn you for having sis but i know your other system is great

Winjmoore, the SiS system is actually in bits, its been out of use for nearly 2 years now, as it packed up completely. Yes, I have better systems, my dual core AMD laptop that has a nVidia graphics card and this one, my single core Centrino with a ATI graphics card. Thing is, that I am looking at one of these to travel with most of the time. http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/specpage.html?NNB-572

Unless you can come up with a better system at a simliar price.
Oh, its got that Intel card (FUN!!!) but still, I shall imagine Trainz would be easy on it. I'll avoid Vista, since Vista sounds like too much fun for some users. :)
