Windows problems

Hi All,

I have a bit of a problem with my Windows 7 install, some features are corrupt so it means I have to reinstall windows 7.

I have just bought myself a Kingston 240G SSD and would like some guidance as to whether it is better to install Windows on the SSD
or reinstall Windows on the original drive and use the SSD for T;ANE

The original Windows drive is a 250g partition on a 1tb drive, I have checked it with various utilities and there are no dead sectors reported.

Cheers,

Hi Bill,

Is the SSD built-in or does it plug in via USB? And if it's an external drive, does your computer have support for USB 3.0 or just 2.0? That information may help a more informed decision to be made. :)

Kieran.

Assuming the SSD is connected via SATA, M.2, PCI-E or SATA Express, it may be best to install Windows onto the SSD as the performance gains in terms of boot times and overall system responsiveness are worth it.

Hi captainkman & LNERlover,

It is a built in SSD with a SATA Express connection.

while running T;ANE I get this report.

From this I am inclined to think, place the system on the SSD as the CPU runs slightly hot after about 30min. in a large route.
