I did a search on this but before I purchase 2010 I'd like to ensure that it will work on a Windows 7 64 bit workstation.

I have Trainz 2010 EE running on Win 7/64 with no issues.

Trainz running on Windows 7 64 bit

I have just installed Trainz 2010 Engineers Edition on my computer. I have just upgraded to an I5 Core processor, 4Gb RAM, etc. When I run Trainz, I have issues with the game closing due to errors, sometimes the screen will go to half width, some of the routes will not load. They freeze.
Any one out there to help me? I have build 42203 so haven't installed any service packs.

When I first install TS2010, I had the route crashing issue as well. This is not a Win 7/64 issue as other forum members have had the same experiences with different operating systems, if I remember their postings on this correctly.

I don't remember exactly what fixed the issues for me but I haven't had any of those type of problems since installing the service packs for TS2010 - my Trainz 2010 DVD was an older version then yours. I'm at the same version with the packs installed.

Check for the latest hardware drivers for your gear and that, if you are using DirectX, you have the latest version installed (I don't think Win 7 does this automatically). I use Open GL with an Nvidia Geforce GTX 275 card which works better for me then DirectX did. Do an extended database repair or two.

From there, check around on this forum for answers as well. You might want to post you issues in the 2010 forum for more direct responses.

What kind of video card do you have? ATI cards run better with DirectX not with Open/GL, which seems to be better with NVIDIA cards.

Ensure that the system drivers are up-to-date as Oroldman says.

Also run the program as an Administrator. This ensures that the program has read/write access to the folders where Trainz is installed.

Note: I too am running Trainz Ts2010 with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and have no probles at all.
