Thanks for that John, though I have no qualms about doing a completely clean install of W7, I often have a clear out of the system when things become a little congested!, it is nice to know that it can be done as you say. My only concerns are compatibility of my present software,printer and scanner drivers for example. When I upped to Vista 64bit I had to scrap my Zone Alarm Pro and go for AVG Internet Security because ZA had not caught up with 64bit! John.

I had the same problem with my antivirus when I went from 32-bit to 64-bit, but not 64 to 64. I still had to install the applications, but the old data was still there. I did it this way because I am only testing the operating system and didn't want to reformat my hard drive.

If and when the commercial version comes out, I will definitely do a fresh-brains install though. I have always done my installs this way as I find that in general there are yucky things left on the hard drive that are best removed with the fresh installation.

A 64 bit operating system will run both 32 bit and 64 bit programs on X86 processors. Was that your question?

LOL! I used a MacIntosh for about 15 years before I retired (Graphic Arts) and it's really too bad TRAINZ isn't available for a Mac. Absolutely superb operating system. That would solve so many probs..... [sigh...]

Well yes but it's the cost and availability of the hardware that's the problem. Macs just aren't cost effective for demanding sims.

I have test Windows 2007 over WINE in Ubuntu-Linux.
2009 have silver status, I can't test it today because I have make me a new kernel for my FireDTV DVB-C box. And now I have trouble with grafic-driver.
