Wilmington and Western Railroad Project

I'm not gonna be working on it for a while due to other projects that have gotten in the way, but I will get to this as soon as I'm clear of those projects.

I managed to DEM out a map of northern Delaware from Newark to PA line with TranzDEM, I managed to cut the map off right at the MD line with only going over a wee bit into MD, and following the PA line around the curve at the top and included the Delaware River and the bridge going over into NJ and a small part of NJ. It's a pretty big map. I might do the W&W with it and maybe the CSX and Amtrak lines as well and most roads and highways. Your route is non-DEM so it's going to be flat. I actually have a half started W&W route from CSX junction to Hockessin but it only has a few buildings like the Greenbank station area, and highways like Rt. 41 and Rt. 2, and no scenery at all north of Greenbank. It was made with regular flat baseboards and is not to scale, just guessing distance. I made the proper W&W coach by reskinning a Boonton coach blue and relettering it Wilmington & Western. The Boonton coach is a payware item by Paulz Trainz. I also did the two diesel switchers in Paint Shed. Leeferr just released an 0-6-0 locomotive that is like the #58 with a sloped back tender, there is an undecorated version available, until now there was no sloped back tender available for Trainz. My cousin just rode the W&W Dec. 6 with his wife, 5 year old son and 2 year old daughter, they live in W_st Ch_st_r, he grew up in All_nt_wn, then N_wt_wn 1979-1992 before going to WCU and moving there and marrying spring 2001. He probably rode the steam train. I made the town names like that on purpose because I don't want them to find my post here we don't see them hardly ever anymore (my mom and her only sister don't communicate much anymore) and I found out he rode the train through an unauthorized source which I won't tell.

In general, the W&W is somewhat flat anyway, I know there are a couple depressions that need to be made for the rivers and such, but otherwise I don't think the grades change all too much. But either way it sounds cool. I'll probably get to reskinning the 58 once this project becomes active again, I've been looking for an 0-6-0 with a sloped tender for a while now.

Is the route and 98 available if I go get a FCT? I chase on W&W every now and then (even though its not a very fast chase!)

The route will be available on TCR when I finish it. Be aware everyone this project is on hold. I started this because my Strasburg route was "finished" according to my terms but that project was resurrected due to me becoming a better route builder and obtaining a DEM for the route, which is what I am currently working on. I promise after Strasburg is done, this is next on the list, but that won't happen for quite a while. When the time comes to work on WWRR objects I will worry about what versions the locos work in, and fix them if necessary. :)

I have been pulled into a very important project (and Strasburg still isn't done yet) so this project will not be worked on until further notice. I said a few posts ago that I thought I was done with Strasburg and needed to find something to do. Well I am now involved in two projects, including Strasburg, and the unfortunate thing is that I need to completely redo what I have started with on the W&W. My school life and social life just will not allow me to work on 3 trainz projects at once. I deeply apologize for this as I understand many people are interested in this. Hopefully when I get both projects done I will try to make an effort to revive this project and work on it until it is completely done. Again, I apologize to those interested.

Robby :)

I understand about that you have a lot your experience with your school since. So even just take your time and no hurry for that and, I can be wait and patient until you back to your project with W&W railroad route :)

Plus, hope someones already made with 0-6-0 Switcher #58 and, 4-4-0 American #98steam...

Once I can get back to this project I'll probably make a couple reskins....Ben Neal's 4-4-0 will work for the #98 and leeferr's 0-6-0 might work for the #58.
