Will this dude JUST give up!?!?!?!?

Me neither! That's almost as bad as those people who create locomotives and rolling stock with Legos! Why anyone, especially adults, would want to fool around with Legos is beyond me.
Really, how sad that Lego superceded Meccano as the favourite construction toy. With Meccano, you could build a working automatic transmission, I have never seen anything the least bit impressive made from Lego.

I had those too. :)

I also still have my red bricks somewhere that interlocked together. There were windows and doors that hooked on and could open or latch closed. I would build some rather complex buildings as I got older. I also had this interlocking road and bridge set. These were different colored girders, either red or grey, which supported some road pieces. They were HO scale and there was an add-on that I never got that contained railroad crossings and other rail-related parts. The roads fit the Matchbox-sized cars perfect and it was great setting up an incline and watching the traffic move along.

Now we do the same thing virtually with no one to tell us it's time to clean up the mess. :)

Sorry, post deleted.

Just a quick heads up on the original topic, I do believe that the the DJ Papercraft site is now being removed, as I was seeing if it was still up, and it said it could not load as the page could not be found.

Whoever wrote to the host wants to make sure they keep a draft or template. I have a feeling it will be needed again.

About 15+ years ago I used to own a website that was the 3rd largest of its kind on the net that was a repository for webmaster website scripts. During its peak years it was pulling over 1.2 million hits per month and I was writing about 4 emails a week to hosts trying to get sites closed down who would not only list the files for download, but in many cases copied the entire website (graphics and all) and would host them mostly on free servers. Your heart sinks when it happens and you feel quite helpless in some ways, fortunately most hosts are pretty quick onto this these days and are on your side.

Good work, I wish you well.

Hello Ian.

I am the one who took action. I have a copy of the e-mails sent and I can retrieve these and use them as drafts.

Thank you for the advice and for sharing your experience. :)

Kieran.

Actually, i have a huge Meccano steamer sitting beside me right now. I used to spend hours tinkering in my room when i was younger.

Weill these dudes JUST give up!?!?!?!?

I think that this thread has run its course. We may now resume the LEGO/wooden blocks/Mechanics Made Easy discussion. ;)

Kieran.

EDIT:
At least something was done, I did some emails as well.
So hijacking and derailing the thread? Why don't you make a new one before I help you gents make one.

Well on a microscopic scale. First the probably 3 year chat issue, now a hijacked topic on some legal issues. What's next?
EDIT: I don't care anymore. You can continue the discussion on THIS thread.

You've only been here a couple/few years. You haven't experienced the sense of humor and fun this place used to have, so does it really matter in the scope of things? The issue has been resolved as stated in a few posts up/a few pages back.

Now back to topic, or the new one that came up out of the other...We're now we're discussing the periphery that came along in the message. Personally I don't care for Thomas, however, many people do. I can see that it has a great potential to bring newcomers in to real trains, model trains, rail fanning, and Trainz as a hobby. The original stories and original TV show with the nice OO model trains is fantastic, however, I think the new 3d model version stinks. It's lost its special quality and really, American/North American actors doing the voices for British locomotives? Come on!

Anyway, I found my box of Bricks! I think I'll be building some things when I get tired of fixing content I brought into T:ANE.

Lego's are a fun tool to use with you IMAGINATION! I know I've created 3 custom minifigures to resemble Link, Mario, and Luigi. I've also used lego as rubble for my troublesome trucks I once had in my Tomy/Trackmaster 1.0 collection. I've also used minifigures as the engine drivers, station people, and much much more.

Hey Z boy, I don't want to say any more than this. You have become a respectable well behaved and useful person on the forums. Well done young man! Keep it up. Maybe that hot head D (hee, hee, he knows I'm kidding) was right all along? This tane thing is something I'm not ready for. I have whatever that version on my line says. I see you seem to be trying to get your computer ready for it. It's yours if you like, but I ain't paying the postage. I'll pay to mail it to D. Then you guys can work it out from there.

Cheers .... Rick

He can thank me too. LOL. We had more than a few words offline. :)

T:ANE isn't that bad as some people make it out to be... Give it some time and some fixes that are due to come out and it will behave even better. I understand if you don't want to do anything with it yet. :)

Is that a threat???

Man, things were so much better here back in the day. None of this Thomas vs. haters crap, not as many fights, less trolling...

You couldn't started a new thread, in the appropriate forum, rather than hijacking and derailing this one? Well this has become a place where adults want to be children, so I actually, really am out of this thread.

I understand the fun and nostalgia, but you don't have to mess other things to do so.

Have fun with your Lego and the like.

Thanks for the very kind words rick! I do have plans on upgrading this PC not only for T:ANE, but for all the main programs I use, like Project 64, Minecraft, and more. Plus, it help to keep the computer in the gaming world for about maybe another 4-5 years before parts need upgrading again.
