Will not save route

Hi all,,,,,I am having a problem with saving a route at the moment, I started one the other day and I came back to it and added a train and some wagons and a bit of track.
So then I saved it and up came a message :Session was saved successfully but surveyor was unable to commit it to the train asset database.
The task can be completed in Content Manager. ::
When I went back to the route in surveyor the train was not there.
Can someone tell me what all that is about please and why the I cant add to the route.?

Hi Len
this may be due to the fact that you do not seem to have a registered version of trainz. Go to "My Trainz" at the top and add your details.

Hi Doug,,thanks for your reply,,,I hope you can help here but my my trains name and password seem to be different to the CM ones
How can I find my password in my trainz please. My username in CM is Casel.

I believe going into each of your trainz profiles (MyTrainz, CM, in game, etc) and editing all user name and passwords to the same thing may help sync up everything. By having different usernames you are essentially telling the all the databases that each profile is a different person thus preventing anything from syncronizing.
 
Yes Len. Follow that advice. This has happened to others and this is the advice that is given. Change all and any to one typical name / user / password.

Go here and you will see on the left hand side all about profile and serial numbers etc. Click your way through there and change and save as per.

Thanks for your replies,, but in content manager the username is casel and the password is x
In my forum, my username is lensturn and password is z
I don't seem to be able to change my username anywhere, is it possible please.

Hi all,,,I have had to change my username to have them both the same and load up CM without the error saying I am not registered and it is now casel both on the forum and in CM.
Lets hope that cures my other error message saving a route :(Session was saved successfully but surveyor was unable to commit it to the trainz asset database.

That error can often be fixed by running Trainz as administrator if you are using Windows Vista or later.

Hi Shane ,,,I have just tried that and it dosent work. When I look at my profile all is in order,, it shows my reg num with the other 2 versions I have and the password is the same in edit profil as it is in CM and so is my username , which leaves me now flummoxed!.:(.

I'm surprised in that case, as the error in your last post is file permissions related. Have you checked it in Content Manager?

Yes Shane everything lokks fine and looks right and I tried run as administrator but it will still not save any alterations in surveyor or sessions.

Can I check if you are using the actual run as administrator option or simply running under an administrator account?

If you are indeed running using the run as administrator option then something very strange is going on.

Hi Shane,,,what I did was clicked on the windows desktop button and in the most used apps I right clicked on launch Ts2010 and chose start as administrator, which went straight into the game.
