Save Issue during Route building

So I am running into the issue of saving a route that I am making. For some reason while overwriting the original Route, it instead creates a session. I attempt to save the session that now has the most up to date route expansion I made and It saves the old out dated route. This is becoming irritating to say the least. I wish their was a better user friendly save system. Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Any new route, or if you load an existing route only, it will automatically create a new session. Routes can not work without a session being opened. 1. Check that you are working on the route layer. 2. When you select your route to open, also select view sessions and edit from there. The edit session will load both the session and the attached route. If in classic mode, select the layers tab and merge the session layer into the route layer to put everything back onto the route. Some things need the session layer to store info.
