Why, why, oh, why?!

As a California-based railfan and an avid rail simmer, I find it totally, unbelievably, and annoyingly saddening that no one has ever made a map of the Tehachapi pass and, more importantly, the Tehachapi loop. I, rather unfortunately, have less than no skill with the map maker, or I would have made one myself.

Trainz has been around for a while. Long enough to make this map, at least. Is there anyone out there who could take up the challenge and build this layout for the community? Please, someone make this route!

Try VMD (Virtual Motive Division).

Edit --

Must have been an old timer's brain freeze.

Dave is absolutely correct.

(VMD is still worth a visit though!)

I did that Trainz Tehachapi and guess what I got.

Why don't you use the link you were given in post#3.
It takes you directly to it.

At least it did for me.

Evan.

I REALLLLY want to kick myself right about now. I spent a whole week scouring the internet for this route, and NEVER found it. 'Cept that crappy MSTS version, which was so bad, fan though I am, that I couldn't be bothered with it.

Thanks guys.

Only one question... How do I install it? =P I have the .cdp file, what do I do with it?

How, after downloading, would one enable this route in TRS 06? I've never downloaded any added content for the game.

Hi allthumbs,

The route comes in the form of a .cdp file. Just double click on the file and it should open CMP and import the file to TRS2006. After it is imported you might have to commit it. This depends if you have commit automatically enabled.

You'll love the Trainz Pro Routes, dude.

NEVER, I repeat, NEVER ask a content creator for a release date. They consider it a little rude. It'll be done when it's done.

And also NEVER demand the release date or that the creator release something that they had no plans to release. This is a tip and I know that noone on this thread has done that.

for those who have a cdp setting on their drive, as has been mentioned multiple times in other threads, but we ought to be kind and welcoming to newcommers, jmo, what i do, because i always use the ftp rather then download helper, is open cmp (content manager), under the files pull down there's a "import cdp" click that, it then comes up under the open for edit tab, select, right click to the edit menue, hit commit, or as it says there, cntrl m i think it is, i can never remember those things, but its all in the menues, and that's all there is to it, its then in trains and ready to go, provided, whatever it is, as long as you've grabbed all the dependent assets.

just clicking on it too will probably get you to where its in the open for edit tab in cmp, unless as mentioned, cmp is set to commit automatically and actually does. main thing w/ 2006 is either get sp-1 (which i have yet to) so that dowload helper and a number of other goodies actually work, or realize that for layouts/routs only 2004 and previous versions won't come up with map not found when you go to open them. every other kind of 2006 asset works just fine, as long as you've got all the parts (dependent assets) to it.

cmp can also tell which ones are missing if you don't.

but i think you need the sp-1 (service pack one) to make the downlaod helper (which liets you grab all the assets as one package, among other things)

just importing the cdp and then committing works just fine though
