Why so many drivers?

Doing a lot of reading and experimenting. Really enjoying learning how things interact in 2010. The one thing I haven't come across yet is why there are so many different drivers and does choosing a certain one somehow change a scenerio. Quite frankly, I think I would rather disable all the built in's and add myself if possible.

As far as I know all drivers have the same competency! Long long ago, when I made sessions for a certain commuter route, I ended up with over fourteen trains running under AI at the same time, hence many drivers are useful.

OK..so each AI train has to be assigned a driver. Makes sense. A little slow here...but I'm learning. Is there a way to add drivers through CM? i didnt see that feature, but didnt look real hard either.

The drivers are added to the consists during placement. You can add drivers to your database in CM, and there is a program called "Driver Me" where you can make your own drivers based on a picture of your choice.

Thanks for your help. Very much appreciated.

Hello, After reading your discussion about the drivers in TS2010, you called the program "Driver Me". Any idea where to obtain this program?? I would like to add some drivers to my copy of trainz, bud find it difficult to do.
