Why I don't D/L certain routes/layouts

There are many beautiful routes I would like to D/L and run but when i see things like "XXXXX:XXXXX Depot (Kuid:XXXXX:XXXXX) can be downloaded at.........." and "dependencies are on the Trainz Pro Routes Download Depot, and Slugsmasher's site, as follows:........." and You must log in at XXXXXXXXX to be able to download the following"...... and worse of all "If you are using TS12, it will be necessary to copy the built in "ja" files from TS2010, as they contain some of the route files." you scare all the barely computer literate old farts (yes we're out here) Train lovers out here from D/L the route. Whats wrong with a nice tidy Zip bundle of all the scattered dependencies. I've D/L other 3rd party layouts done this way and its a pleasure to have all you need in 1 spot. Don't want to do any computer reprogramming here, just want to run trains.

Thank You,

Well, I can think of two possible problems off the top of my head. First, having assembled the zip file, one needs a place to host it, which may be more hassle than the author wants to go to if (s)he doesn't already have a web site. Second, some or all of the dependency authors may be restrictive about how their assets are redistributed. But I do agree it would be nice if more people would do this sort of thing, where possible.
