Which is an easier load on computers, objects or trackside objects, if exactly same?

As the title says, which is easier on computers, if the same item(s) appear in both Objects or Track Objects?

For example, say Overhead_Pole_2 in the objects tab, but another choice is say Overhead_Pole_2 in Trackside Objects.

Given two otherwise identical assets I would think that the difference (if any) was so marginal as to not matter.

I had exactly that issue on my current WIP where I had access to a new trackside relay box made as both a trackside asset and a scenery object. I finished up nearly always using the scenery object simply because it was more flexible in the positioning. A catenary pole on the other hand is probably preferable from a positioning standpoint as a trackside object. Performance-wise though - nothing in it.....

If you are talking PC "load" framerate killers ... it is ALL "Splines" that are one of the worst offenders ... (So track should be avoided at all costs :hehe: in Trainz routes).

Hundereds of genus of trees (6-12 different types should be the norm), grass, multiple track yards using high poly track, and High Poly assets such as fantastic looking locos, all adversly affect framerates.

Thosands of railcars, and hundereds of loco's, all spead out over a route, (even if they are not visible, and are very distant on the route), will also will cause PC lag.

I still use MP Track Wood v2 by Philskene as it bends fabulously, and is the lowest framerate killing track.
