Where have all the thumbnails gone

Maybe it's just me. looks like a lot of items on the DLS have no thumbnails. i would like some kind of ideal what i'm downloading. Have downloaded in the past items that the description looks ok but what a letdown.

Thanks just had to let off steam.

In TRS04 and earlier inclusion of a thumbnail was so easy you would be daft to not include one. The TRS06 (and I assume later) requirements are such that I (and I assume many others) simply couldn't be bothered.....

Andy ;)

PS - let me sum up the next three replies: Auran are perfect; It's not that hard; I'm a lazy sod.....

I know three or four creators at least who are having problems with this at the moment. If you are uploading with TRS2006 or TC you must have a thumbnail in the package or CMP won't send it up. If the item is reuploaded sometimes it takes the thumbnail on the second attempt. These are all experienced content creators who have had no problems with this in the past. My gossip says that the guy who looks after the DLS is on vacation.

If you see a gray thumbnail it's not the fault of the maker a change was made to the DSL and now only thumbnail that are NOT in the art file will show on the DLS. It has taken me mouths to track this down!

I wonder if the proposed clean-up of the DS will include adding thumbnails to the assets that don't have them?

Smiley.

This may be a humorous post by Andy but I am concerned about my content not showing a pic. I've done everything as should be done yet, a pic did not show on the DLS.
I believe the problem lays with Auran and not with us creators.

This is not the case either. I have a pic in the main folder of all my creations.

My pics show up in the game, on my PC, in TO, on my beta testers PC, in his CMP and game, the TPRDD but not on the DLS. Why? I'm even using the pic in the main folder to display my model at my own web site.

In my opinion, content shouldn't be posted if a pic doesn't show. Auran should check to make sure there is a pic and that it does show. (But, then again, we all know what opinions are like.)

The main problem is the naming - convention on the DLS . DLS refuses "complex" names for ex mixing small and big letters will refused - also blanks or - between letters .
if you call it simple - thumb - or - 123 - it works .

Consider this then.
If you are going to get something from a shop, you want to be able to see what your getting, don't you?.
And at the very least, have a decent description of what the thing is.
So then if you would like people to dwonload your hard-worked goodies, sell the idea by showing us what it is!

...does this explain why 3 assets with thumbnails called $screenshot$.jpg display OK, but another asset, also with a thumbnail called $screenshot$.jpg fails to display? No, it does not.

No problem here

I must have done something correct every time I up loaded because a quick check of my assets on the DLS did not find any missing thumbnails. I only looked at perhaps two dozen examples so I might have missed some. We are talking about the picture that shows when you click on the details link of an asset? :)

As mentioned, it could be something as simple as naming convention. A look at some of my source files shows I used all lowercase names without any spaces but an under_score if there were two or more words.

I also might add that one of my assets is faulty. It isn't faulty on my PC or my beta tester's PC. It works from my web site and the TPRDD. I have asked Auran to remove it but it still exists, Why?
It's my little red caboose, [FONT=Verdana, Arial]371339:15001.
It's doing nothing but taking up valuable DLS space and it doesn't work downloaded from the DLS.

EDIT: This matter has been resolved. Thank you Alan...
