To back up you can either copy your local folder, to restore use the import function in Content Manager.
Or make a cdp of the route in Content Manager and one of it's dependencies and save them, it's easier than looking for it in the Trainz folders as all assets are stored in Folders within Hash folders. There are a lot of them so you would have to search, it's probably not a good idea to go in there anyway as the stuff is compressed. For just one route a cdp is easier.
Thanks mate that was easy, I just saved all my created content (consists/routes/sessions etc) into one folder to burn to DVD. All saved in one hit...nice.
I run my Trainz2010 on two computers. I have created a route and session on the laptop and it runs fine. I uploaded/save the route and session to a CDP two CDP files one for each and then copy the CDP files to the second computer.
Using the Content Manager, I imported the saved CDP files to the the program and it shows being entered and committed, but when I get to the Routes/Session in the Trainz program, this route and session are not included. (now I have to mention that the route is deemed faulty and missing dependencies - but runs fine on the first computer - secondly there may be items added in the Local files of the first computer that are not in the second computer)
Is there something that I am not doing correctly and how do I correct it.
Check to see if the star in Routes is gold color. If it is uncheck it. That allows all routes to display.
Following is how to get all the dependencies over to the second PC.
In CMP:
If you want the route and all the dependencies you downloaded for it open the pick box on the left.
Drag the route to the pick box.
Right click the route in the pick box and select add dependencies.
Right click and select all.
Repeat until no more dependencies can be selected.
Right click and select show in main list.
Set your filter to built in= false.
Right click in main list and select all.
Right click and select save to cdp.
Give it a name of your choice and location.
Depending on the amount of assets it may take some time to create the cdp.
Done!

Still route/session not accepting on other computer
I tried and copy / loaded / deleted and retried the information given my Mikej to copy a route and session to the second computer. It succeeded only once but a lot of information was missing and the route was about 1/2 entered.
the two units, the route and session both appear in the Content Manager, they have been committed many times. In several instances all the dependencies from the original computer were added to the second unit, and committed.
(note - I deleted the route and session to try again - would that also delete the additional roads, scenery etc that were committed when imported the first time).
I have done a complete database update and still no luck.
is there something wrong with my program - will I have to re-install it - I will not delete the local files and what other directory/files should I ensure that is kept and then incorporated in the revised installation.
