Wheels speed

Please download 2:44179:3:1 SBB Croc. As a test, run it at any speed and look at the wheels. On my setting, these wheels turn very slow not dependent of the speed. This problem was in the obsolete version; You would say that a new one should have had this problem corrected. Please note that one of the joys of seeing this loco running is precisely the way the wheels turn. How can this problem be corrected?

This is a problem with the bogey, not the engine. <kuid:44179:50001> does not appear to be updated.

"Look for errors in the bogie config.txt. There should NOT be an 'anim' tag and there should NOT be 'animation-loop-speed' either."

You may need to adjust the value for animdist. This should be the distance travelled in metres by the bogeys in 30 frames of animation. Typically, the animation is set at 30 frames per revolution, in which case animdist is the circumference of the wheel.

I have been playing with the animdist (There is no anim nor loop speed tags). By default it is set at 2.1, so I changed it to 3.1, and then to 6.1 The problem persists with no visible change in the speed of the wheels.

6.1 is too high - a typical figure for that size wheel is about 3.66. If changing the animdist value is not having an effect then there is still something else controlling the animation. Compare the bogey with a similar one that works correctly and see if you can identify the difference.

Boy: Is 2 in the morning here and I am still fiddling with it. I downloaded an updated version of this loco in green. That one works as it is supposed with the right speed. Upon config examination, I see that it has the tags for anim and loop. And the number at the tag for animdist is 2.1. So at this point I will add these tags to the brown SBB croc and see if that do it. Will report tomorrow. Thank you for everything.

Try changing the value of animdist to 8.4. That's the distance traveled in a full cycle of the animation (120 Frames). TS12 seems to handle the value of animdist different, compared to the older Trainz version.
This bogey has wheels of 2 different diameters. The big wheel travels 4.2m in one rotation, the small wheel only 2.8m. The smallest common multiple is 8.4m (big: 2 rotations, small: 3 rotations)

Problem resolved: After I tried several settings, I decided to do amimdist 1 And the wheels speed up! I thought it was the other way around, the higher the number the more speed. So I adjusted it to 2.2 and that seems to give the more realistic effect. now I notice that the speed of wheels is not dependent of the speed of the loco, but rather a combination of this and the setting of the throttle, so if the throttle is set higher, the speed of the loco is still slow but the wheels turn faster. I think it is the way it has been always, but you notice it more when there are gears coupled to wheels, Another note on this particular loco: There are two models, one start with SBB 6/8, the other Be 6/8, both are brown. The green model name start with Auran KroKodile. I have all of them working quite reasonably now. There was another model, more refined that this ones that featured separated bodies for front, center and middle so in curves was quite nice the articulation (I remember it was Croc I, Croc II and III) but these don't work in our later versions of Trainz. Just in case anyone cares, the next time you pass by Lucerne in Switzerland, go to the Transportation museum (Worth every penny), and look for one of these Krocodiles in exhibition indoors where you can touch it, then you can go under (there is a pit) to see it from under the carriage!, and if you are lucky, a drop of oil will fall in your head (still drips). Interesting yes? So, Thank you all for the help.
