Whats the point of session makers uploading a session if no route referenced?

CMP will download the session and its associated assets, but it won't download the route its associated with.
I downloaded the session titled: "1322 Hull - Doncaster", and it downloaded the rolling stock for it etc, but wouldn't download the route its associated with!
The maker of the session didn't say which route it is made for.
In fact, most of these session makers don't stipulate which routes these sessions are made for......so it makes me think......if they can't simply do that....just state which route the session is supposed to run in.....then I'm pretty well much doubting the sessions won't have been created in a comprehensive manner!:(

A valid point. It would certainly make it easier if route/session creators included the name of the route in the session names or, at the very least, in the session description.

Part of the problem, particularly for first time or inexperienced uploaders, is that when you bundle the route and all its sessions into a single .cdp file and upload it, the DLC will reverse the process to present the route and sessions as separate downloads. It would make sense to keep all the components in the one downloadable file but there are users who want to download the routes but not the sessions.

That's obvious (to someone in the UK), it's for the built-in ECML route. But if you don't realise that, it could be a problem.

yes it is a bit of a problem as clack45 only has TS2009 and older yet the ECML route is TS2010 and upwards only, yet someone managed to download the session to a build lower that of the route build.

A fully patched version of TS2009 has a build number of 3.3 so the session 1322 Hull to Doncaster which is also build 3.3 will show up in TS2009 Content Manager. As you say this version of the session is intended for TS2010 ECML but to add to the confusion there is a session with the same name which is for TS12 ECML and is different because the map is very different.

One way to check for the route is to find the session on the black pages, if you then click on download page a new window will come up which includes all the dependencies, one of these will be the kuid for the map. Clicking on the dependency will take you to another window with details of the map.

If you have downloaded the session in CM and you do not have the route, it will show up as a missing dependency which you can search for.

Can you still upload packs? If so, how do you do that with CM ?

It is possible to upload multiple assets that are yours by selecting them in one go using Content Manager's Upload feature.
