What type of points are used in UK rail yards and depots??

Hi all, am thinking of creating a large UK based yard with storage tracks, a diesel depot, steel warehouse and scrap yard. I want it to be as realistic as possible and want to know are such yards controlled from a signal box with automatic points and signals or manual levers at points and unsignalled?? thanks in advance for your replies and advice.

Guesswork, any new yards box controlled. Older yards for eg crewe, bescot, toton, entrance and exit box controlled, because of the size I would think there will be a local yard box for internal movements.

They can be either manual or motorised points and sometimes a mix of both. It would depend on the use and size of the yard. I tend to use signalled, motorised points on the junctions connecting directly to the main lines and unisgnalled hand levers within the yard itself.

Okay. Thanks for your replies. Reckon I'll go with a mix of signals and stop boards with both levers and automatic points.
