What Sessions go with which Routes

I've been looking at the sessions on the DLS and find it difficult to tell which route they work with. We need either a naming convention or some way for CM to sort them by route.

Very good point, David. I've spent a lot of time recently, going through the sessions (and scenarios) on the DLS and laboriously going through and trying to identify the associated layouts. To be fair. most of the session designers do follow a naming convention but often you'll come across a "Basic Session" or other such nondescript titles. By the way, there's a lot of great sessions and even a few scenarios that are several years old and still work very well on TRS2010. Granted, you usually have to run in compatibility mode but in many cases, it's well worth it.

Getting back to the naming convention, it would have to be policed when routes and sessions are added to the DLS but I wouldn't think that would be much of a hardship. It's easy enough to change a session name or better still if all designers named their sessions with the layout name somewhere in the title.

It is a simple process for the route/session creator to "package" all the components into one .cdp file which makes it easy for downloaders to get the route, all the sessions and any other specialised files such as HTML assets in one go.

If you look at some items on the DLS they have a "View PACK" message next to the asset icon. When clicked this opens a new window which shows all the separate components that come with the item. At the top of this window is a "Download Pack" link which will download the single .cdp file that contains all the components.

Unfortunately, not all content creators use or know of this feature.

I tried opening a couple sessions in Content Manager: the route is listed among the dependencies of the sessions.

I'm talking about using Content Manager. I never use the DLS black screen, only shows 10 items per page website. I'm talking about in Content Manager, where all thing of content take place, it would be nice to be able to sort all sessions by Route.

I have discovered you can find all the sessions for a given route if you right click and select View Dependant Assets. However, this only works for routes and sessions you have downloaded. Seems there is a missing piece.
