What is compatible?

Another newbie question, when getting an add on for TS12, I notice that many times on the web site it will say designed for 2006, or 2010. Very rarely do I find anything specifically for 2012. My question is, how many times are these add on's compatible, if its a close year , like if you get something that will run on T10, is there a good chance it will also work on T12 too?

It generally means that the content is designed and tested in that version. Most 2004, 2006, etc. content will work fine in TS12, but there is a chance that it may not. Even then, the content can almost always be repaired to work in TS12 (see the sticky in the TS2010 forum by gisa about fixing content).

Usually anything Trainz 2009 and up will work.
