What computer do you run trainz on?

In the older versions of trainz the CPU was the workhorse so more CPU the better, but with the current generations of trainz (2009 to 2012) some of the work has since been off loaded to the GPU...although still not nearly as much as other games do or how the next version of trainz will.

Well, then that settles it there.

I use:

1. Laptop
2. HP Pavilion dv6 (5 year old model, came with Vista, but recently replaced with Win7)
3. 4GB RAM, 2.0GHz dual-core CPU, ATI Radeon 4500 graphics card
4. 60fps all 'round in TS2010, even on ECML and Avery-Drexel, and with 50,000m draw distance (no joke, I modded the globalmodule.txt file), but cannot run TS12 for s**t.
5. The only problems I have are that it only has a dual-core processor, only 4GB of RAM, and needs a desk fan blowing on it when running Trainz, GTA, MSTS, etc.

I would NOT recommend a HP Pavilion dv6 for general use, let alone Trainz use. But, I get by with it; I just make do with what I have.

Kieran.
