What causes Trainz to ignore keypresses?

As I play around with the Appalacian coal route I wonder what processes are going on inside the computer that causes my view selections to be ignored by Trainz12. I know that the locos have Cab views (I have seen them). I know that there are Lineside views but you can click on the View menu and hit Cab View or Lineside until you are blue in the face and you are not going to get them. Is it because this route is so graphics intensive it just overwhelms the computer! I am assuming the program just prioritises stuff and ignores what it can not handle but I am no computer engineer. Frustrating though nevertheless.

If possible try another keyboard

You state in the title "keypresses".

If possible, have you tried another keyboard to see if some keys don't work?

What keys are you pressing?
The camera views are the key pad numbers row 1,2,3 and 4 above QWERTY. Not the Num pad keys or the "F" keys.

Apologies. I should have said mouse clicks. When you click on the the top right icon for changing views that is when I get the problem. Sorry for the confusion.

Is it only in this route, or in the program in general? If it's the route, or session, then perhaps the creator disabled these views so they're not available during the session.

OK. I tried the box standard Appalacian route as it comes in Trainz 12 and it worked OK with the exception of Lineside view. Cab interior was present. I then tried again using a saved scenario and again that worked fine. I then tried it with a saved senario with the payware K5 loco and it was OK. I then loaded up the scenario that gave me all the trouble yesterday (no cab view) and this time the view was there and also instead of being stuck waiting for track clearance for 10 minutes which was where I had saved it the train immediately starts moving under AI control. I have a high spec computer running Windows 7 64 bit and 8 gig ram so I suspect there is something going on with memory. I notice there can be quite lengthy pauses changing view from cab to external and zooming the Map View out.

After reading this, I suspect that the non-responsive mouse was due to some kind of background operation, which cleared its self when you restarted the sim and or the computer.

My system specs are similar to yours and the route tends to be quite laggy especially when changing from interior to exterior views. I attribute this big lag to the heavy use of spline objects which are big memory and resource eaters anyway.

If the problem happens again let us know and we can dig a bit more into your problem.
