What businesses do you need for your route?

Euphod

No Friend requests please
As some of you may be aware, I am reskinning businesses for release on the DLS. If you need a local business from your part of the world, I'm more than willing to try to make it. Perhaps you are doing a prototypical route and need that special piece, or there's a favorite place you used to work, or work at now that you would like to see in Trainz.
If so, please post here. A link to a large photo would be nice, but if not, I'll do my best. If it's a really obscure name or structure, then I'm probably going to need your help.
Thanks in advance.

I am beginning a short-line.. and I'm almost certain I'll have a few of those odd balls.. So I know I'll have a few.. I just don't know what just yet.
-Thanks,Kyle

I'm working on the EBT so I need the Chance Coal Cleaning plant, some refractories, and various batten board buildings for Mt. Union and Rockhill.

A Verizon store. And random barber and hair salon shops. I see those everywhere. And also maybe GameStop.

needed business: wood-frame lineside creamery

Hi.

One type of structure I have not been able to locate is a small-town or rural creamery, typical of the ones seen in the norttheast US in the early 20th century. What I have in mind is a wooden building. I Googled images of creameries and turned up this link to a Mainline Modeler article; it is a very good representative of the type of structure I'm looking for. It includes a floor plan as well as exterior plans, and several photos of the prototype. While I am not looking for an exact copy of this particular building, it does give a very good idea of the type and size of building that would suit my needs. I would also be quite happy to just have the building shell; interior and functional cargo loading/unloading is not necessary as far as I'm concerned. One nice extra would be a re-nameable sign to identify it.

My route is the PRR's Elmira Division/Branch between Williamsport PA and Elmira NY. There were several such creameries along this line; I think that one or two in the larger towns still stand. I don't have pix of any of those, but as I said, this link gives a good idea of what would fit in on my route.

Many thanks for asking for suggestions like this!

Needs for Layout

I there a more modern and typical looking fire station and police station out there, like what would be common to find today in any large city in the USA?

Just like a typical city 3-bay fire station or a one story police building?

How about an updated Public Storage complex?

Road construction signs like you would find along USA major streets and highways during major road work season? (Including those blinking arrow boards and maybe a customizable message sign.)

I am working on a modern-day (today) major USA city layout, and this kind of stuff would be so helpful if I could find it!!!

:udrool:

How about an ozzie bush timber mill, this country was full of them many years ago, all were steam driven, by sing the cut off as fire wood for the boiler.
A major country city CFA fire station (not american)

Okay, every man needs to know his limitations:

I'm certain it's my fault, perhaps I didn't explain myself clearly enough. I feel bad now that I've gotten some hopes up!

I'm a reskinner. I change texture files. I am not a lofty mesh/model maker. I cannot satisfy some of the requests placed here, I wish I were so talented. Perhaps a modeler will take some of your requests to heart. The modern businesses you have requested I can do. Some are already done, and on the DLS.

I suppose I should be asking for suggestions for STOREFRONTS that are commonly seen, that you would like for your routes.

Thanks all for the response though, keep the suggestions coming!:)

Not so commonly seen (one can always hope) but I liked the suggestion about the political campaign office with the rock thrown through the window - it could perhaps come in US (GOP, Democrat, Tea Party), Oz (Labor, Liberal, Green) or UK (Tory/Liberal, Labor) flavours :D

I know where I would like the rock to go, but those DC cops are everywhere!

- Error: This asset has a trainz-build number which is not recognised by this tool.

Anyway to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

'Edit in Explorer' and find, the build number tag which is 'trainz-build'
Ed's building's are build 3.3, so try editing it to 2.7 (TC1&2) that way it can be used by any supported version
