well guys

K4driver

gone from this chaos/ruin
it's been fun, but due to events in real life, I have to leave the trainz community, I haven't been able to play it in months, and the forums have not had anything remotely interesting lately. with this, I say goodbye to trainz. I may be back someday, but right now it looks unlikely

Well it is official I am done with trainz. My driver crashed, and I have to do a full system wipe and reinstall all the software, motherboard, sound card, etc. I will be on the forums, but all my content is disappeared and dead, and no more new content will come from me for a long time if ever. To Sum it up, I lost trainz and all my files when my desktop crashed. I will be on the forums, but I will not be making content. thanks for the memories guys.

Really sad when you are forced to take a break. Are your backups not available to rebuild your Trainz collection?

The whole system has to be wiped, it turns out it was actually a Nasty virus that can only be taken care of by wiping it completely

Ouch, so all your external backup files are also corrupted? I guess there is a limit to how many generations of backup you keep.

K4, just 'cause you got a virus doesn't necessarily mean your system is hosed. Short of a drive format, there are few viruses out there that "wipe" a system, and hopefully you have not responded in such a manner.

If you are a Do-It-Yourselfer, just installing the drive as a second on another machine should allow you to access the data, unless it's encrypted.

I'm willing to do some pro-bono data recovery too. PM me if interested.

There is no such animal!

Just save your Trainz stuff to a CD or DVD, do a complete format and reload windows and AVG. Then scan then DVD. Note any files AVG reacts to and don't re-install them on your computer.

wait, it was only the executable files, I was told not to copy over, due to a possible infection risk. at this point though, I still have even tried to copy the files. RS, thanks for the offer, but I have a friend who is good with computers who can help me with this, no offense.

I will be around, but not a regular poster unless it really bothers me to post it. Plus the quality of the forum has gone downhill very much since I joined pre-great forum crash.

Guys, I'm back. I reinstalled TRS06 and the Service pack. Note to self get TRS10, if/when I see it on shelves state side...:o
