Here ya go J.
Today we will be chasing a WC Steel, headed for a factory.
Here we see the train arriving at Hawk Junction:

Passing two other trains. The CNW Coal was due to leave after us, headed for the coal unloader whilst the WSOR train had arrived this morning and was awaiting approval to 'run-around' and shunt:

Over a bridge:

Here at one of the stations along the way we crossed an Amtrak Pass:

Over Agawa Falls:

And finally, passing through Sault Ste. Marie:

That's it for today, hopefully tomorrow we will catch that CNW Coal.

Tom :)

Today we had the opportunity to shoot up to the Agawa Canyon Tour....So with that being said...Here is the shot

Today we are set up at Hawk Junction, where we will be following a CNW Ballast Train. Our first shot has the train seen approaching the Junction. Due to a CP Train about to arrive, our train was put in the siding:

5 Minutes after the train was put away it started to pour down. The CNW crews got out to have a break and were replaced by WC crews. I decided to take cover under the depot and took this shot:

Finally the CP Train arrived. By this time the rain was really heavy!:

Finally on our way, we see the train passing through one of the towns:

Different spot:

Crossing Agawa Falls:

With the weather all cleared up, here we see the train passing through another town:

When the train arrived at Sault Ste. Marie, the locos preformed a 'run-around' and the Track gang did what they needed to do with the Ballast. It then left for Hawk Junction where it would be stablled for the night. It would then leave the next day, but with CNW crews controlling the train. In hearing all of this I drove back to Hawk Junction and got this shot of the train:

Tom :)

Good thing your sending that ballast train thru.....This whole line is being re-done with new ties and ballast work.....This is what you call a big rehabilitation project

Today we were up in Canada and was thinking about taking the Agawa Canyon Tour Train sometime this week....Well seeing that we are up here we might as do a lil RR fanning first......

We went over to the SSAM yard and caught train A411 from Chicago making its way into the yard...This train runs from Chicago up to the SSAM where we are...SSAM stands for Sault Ste Marie......

We then went over to Hawk Junction and only unit that was up here today was the one at the service tracks....Maybe more will pick up lata in the day

Well....Till next time

Tonight I was called up to take a local to Hawk Jct tonight....Boy she sure was a cold night...Hardly no clouds in the sky and the air was crisp...For sure I had my coffee with me tonight...Hazelnut to be exact :hehe: ...Anyways...Our train 2night was 2 WC SD45's with 30 and 2...Seems a lil over powered but the one SD45 was going in for service on the ore trains......

Now these shots were taken by a friend of mine.....

The WC put up a few of these signs along the line....The one side says this

And the other side says this

I bet the people in them houses dont like trains....Shooting the light at 11:21pm...Sure hope they dont have to get up early...And yet...Doing 10 MPH thru town

Here the train is passing my summer house.....I see there having a good time 2night....I gave them a shave and a hair cut toot on the horn :hehe:

Pulling into the service tracks here at Hawk Jct...Its time to get a cab and head back to the depot and call it a night......

Till next time

A quick transfer run with the WC to interchange cars....Here we catch the local that will swap some cars with the CP here at Franz Canada

Soon train AL11 will be thru here to head up to Hearst...It stopped at Hawk Jct for a crew change and will continue on its way and stop here to pick up some cars from the CP and then keep on going on up north

3 Shots from me...

Today I thought I'd go catch a WC Coalie along the coal lines. Sure enough, as soon as I got there one rolled through...
WC-Coalie-New-1.jpg

Surprisingly up front was SD45 #7513, named 'The Richard B. Ogilvie'....

A CN Herzog Ballast train makes its way towards Stevens Point after picking up its train at the Mathy Ballast pit just north of Junction City

First 3 shots we catch him just about to enter the small town of Knowlton

(This ones for you Jim) :hehe:

Here we catch him at Knowlton just crossing the Lake du Bay bridge of the Wisconsin River

Coming into Junction City is where we last caught him before continuing onto Stevens Point

Till next time

Caught train WSFD1T that runs from Wausau to Fond du Lac

Coming into Knowlton across the Wisconsin River

Pacing WSFD1T

At Junction City we catch him creeping over HWY 10

Hopping off the NE leg of the WYE of the Valley Sub and getting ready to hop onto the Superior Sub

All for now

10mph thru town? That ain't nothin' The museums line used to be owned by the IC, 10 mph for 46 miles Champaign Illinois to Decatur Illinois, 10mph 4 1/2 hours of 10 mph corn & beans, corn & beans one hell of a boring trip.
