WC was a little power short in Wausau today so it appears they stole a BN 70MAC from the coal train that's currently unloading at Weston. It's paired up with one of WC's SD45s and is lugging hard on a healthy T018 bound for Stevens Point to be switched. The BN unit should return north tomorrow on T017 and hopefully it will be leading!!
Pic of some WC power laying over in the Points engine facility
On this scorching summer day....Train LO17 makes its way out of Point and makes its daily run to Wausau......Bet the crew wishes they were at where that billboard says right about now.....BUT, with the lil help of the AC in these locos, I am sure they are doing just fine......
Heading past the Stevens Point Depot
Heading across the Wisconsin River
Slowing to take the NE leg of the WYE to take its train up to Wausau
On my way to my grandparents house here in Wausau....I heard on the scanner that LO11 is making its way thru town and heading this way....So I raced up 6th street and headed over to Gilbert Park and set up my camera right on the other side of Jimma Creek where it flows into the Wisconsin River....And what a nice treat on this train...A good ol GP30 with 2 SDL39's
