WC Shotz

Up in Bradley we see LO11 coming back onto the Bradley Sub after making a set out here at Bradley of 11 empty log cars to be loaded and LO12 will pick up the loads and head back to Wausau.....The train was on the Valley Sub to make its way up to Prentice....The trailer is there yard office for the locals that run over to Rhinelander..

LO11 tied down for the day at Prentice

I like the office! I will have to do a swap out and put that one in there since it looks closer to the actual office. I am almost done with Rhinelander to Bradley or well, most of it at least. Some work has to be done in Rhinelander yet, particularly the north side beyond the yard. Then, its going to be a real pain putting in the trees, woods, etc. At least I have all the roads, track, ground textures and most of the buildings in. It has been a journey! Next work that will be done is laying track to the Tomahawk Mill.

LO12 picks up a cut of loaded log cars here at Bradley before hopping off the Bradley Sub and hop onto the Valley Sub to go south thru Wausau where a block of loaded TPPX cars will be set out for train 18 to take to Neenah for the Kaukauna paper mill and then continue on its way to its destination at Wisconsin Rapids....This train is mainly made up of boxcars and a lot of loaded log cars

Heading back to the Rapids yard office after spotting its train at the mill

Tying up for the night

A few shots of the route I am working on. This is an extension to WCL's route. I am covering Bradley to Rhinelander. I have all the track, roads, base ground texture, lakes, rivers, streams, etc all finished. I am in the process of putting in more ground textures, objects such as trees, other scenery details and so forth. Here are a couple of shots in the small town of Heafford Junction which is just east of Bradley a few miles.

Looking south at some sort of business that I am unsure of that I will have to find out. I tried to make it look as close as possible and referred to Google Earth.

Nice job there

Here is one to add

The conductor has his head down as he copies a track warrant for the Valley Sub.....In WC days this train was LO11 after CN it was A461 and now it's L599.....No matter what symbol it takes on, its nice that the Tomahawk paper mill and the industries up north keeps this train running.

L599 idles away as it just finished its run from Wausau...Later tonight this train will get a new crew and take this train back to Wausau as train L598

The work on the Bradley Sub continues as evidenced here in Woodboro. Bradley to Woodboro has primarily been completed. Work will continue on eastward this evening!

Looking west on the grade at Woodboro where the tracks cross county highway N.

Looking east at Woodboro. The siding to the right has since been removed by CN. During the WC central days this siding was used for maintenance equipment and I believe the last time this siding was used was for a bad order ore car when CN was running ore over to Escanaba.

Isn't that area the interchange with the Tomahawk Railroad?
You got it. I am not 100% sure on how exactly the interchange works nowadays, but a couple years ago I saw the local out of Bradley work the main Tomahawk yard and he brang a 32 car train up from Tomahawk into Bradley during the middle of the day. The switch veering off to the west is Tomahawk Railway trackage which heads to the mill. Here is an actual shot of the same area. I hope to get started on building the route and putting in the mill at some point, but I have to finish Bradley to Rhinelander first.
