Want 10 cores? You got 'em....for a price.

You've been able to get 12 cores for a while in the Xeons. Sure, that's a "workstation" chip and this is "consumer grade" equipment, but considering the price I'm not sure that it makes much difference :)

Would love to have either one :D

Just shows boc61 how a hobby interest can overtake much else, eh? Reminds me of this joke.

A man let's call him Andy was playing his enthusiastic game of golf with a pal. They were not far away from the boundary fence. As Andy was boput to take a shot a long funeral started to pass near them and Andy suddenly turned to face the procession, jumped to attention taking his golf hat off and giving a polite bow. His friend said "Phew Andy that was a very nice and respectable thing to do." Andy turned and answered. "Yeah, she was a wonderful wife.to me."

The new Broadwell-E CPU's have just hit the market here in the UK but unfortunately at a price. The 10 core/40 lane Intel i7 6950X retails at a few pence under £1.400 plus the price of a motherboard and probably a lot of cooling at 140W not to mention ear defenders if you prefer a quiet life.
