Vista Mare Trainz Map

I downloaded and installed Trainzmap 2010 from the TPR Download Depot, and put a dummy Trainz2010.exe file into my Trainz2012 folder. When I run Trainzmap, this is what I get.

Try running the program as administrator? That sometimes helps older applications run. There are also compatibility options too you can try and see if that works as well.

I do believe that the read me file says that he needs the original vistamare trainzmap is required. The web address is still up but it has said " THE SITE IS TEMPORARILY DOWN..." for a year or more.

It's been awhile since I've used that program and never got it to work on anything above TRS2006. There was a version that was sold with that version that required an update shortly afterwards. I wonder if the update is available on the Vistamare website.

TrainzMap Viewer does work in TS2010, and TS12, however, it was designed to work in conjunction with VistaMare TrainzMap. You must copy the TRS2006.exe file into the TS2010, or TS12 folders. It won't work in very large routes like my WM & B&O Mega Route.

When you first open TrainzMap Viewer, you'll see a 'Change Trainz Location' box in the upper right hand corner. Click on that box and browse to either the TS2010 or TS12 folders and select. You must have VistaMare TrainzMap installed to make it work.

If you don't have TRS2006, open Notepad, type in 'TRS2006.exe' and save as a .txt file. Remove the '.txt' extension and copy the file into either the TS2010 or TS12 folders.

I have VistaMare TrainzMap Version 1.1.0, however I'm hesitant to share it with members of the Trainz community, as it is still the intellectual property of the original designer, even though it was originally made available as freeware.

If someone can convince me that it is alright to do so, I would be glad to make it available on my web site as a download.

Regards, Joe

TrainzMap is available from the Internet Archive Wayback Machine's archive of the VistaMare site from before it was taken down. Robin Hoods recently posted the link to the TrainzMap 1.1.0 download here.

I downloaded and installed TrainzMap 1.1.0, and now it works on my computer (Windows 7 64 bit).

Thank you Retro00064!

Installed TrainzMap 1.1.0 clicked on the exe icon chose map but just got invalid or not supported file icon.

I then clicked on run as administrator, But got the same invalid message.

Went through most my routes from 1 baseboard to around 50 baseboards with all returning with the invalid message

I'm Running Trainz 10 on windows 7.
