All good stuff. Ill try some of this out.

I do get frustrated with not being able to have all my stuff on a railroad. I really dont want to set up multiple scenarios and would rather have one ongoing railroad. Of course i had to choose the biggest one i could find!

I may try Gilby and Wallace for a while and see how that runs.

FYI, that motherboard you mentioned is using an Nvidia chipset so it supports SLI. If I were you I would trade the 8800GTX out for 2 8800GTs in SLI. Lower cost, and outperforms the GTX.

Also, that system is about the same as mine, and is certainly Vista capable. I would recommend getting Vista Home Premium instead. Trust me, it is much better than XP. Not to mention SP1 is coming out for it very soon, so that's a good reason to get it.

Intel are just releasing the 45 nm stuff, I'd wait until mid-late january before doing anything.
