Video card upgrade question

As Fathers day is coming up & the kids want to get me something

I am wondering how much of a performance boost I will get if I replace my existing
2 x 9600gt cards in SLI.
with one of these
Zotac nvidia gtx460 d5 1g hdmi 2*DVI

I can't see any real difference in gaming quality in any games I play whether I have SLI enabled or not.

Depending on the resolution, you could notice a big difference or not much at all. Since Trainz doesn't make use of SLI or Crossfire (ATI multi graphics card tech), you won't notice a difference in performance (even when it's forced). Any screen size of 1680 x 1050 or higher, that would be a good upgrade. But any lower, and you might want to wait for the GTS 450, or get an ATI 5770 (if you want to change sides & mess with drivers).
