I'm creating a standard gauge route with a logging - lumber/pulp - goods/paper industry chain. The setting is a river valley. Thought I'd share a few pics and see what people think as well as help develop some new ideas.
Small freight yard where the branch line starts. Main line is in the back:
First station stop, right after the yard:
Crossing the first bridge:
Passing some fields:
Trestle by a horse ranch:
The saw mill:
Old Saw Mill with abandoned track:
Another truss bridge:
Another river crossing:
Second town, still being built, going to have a small pulp mill:

The plan is to add some log loading areas farther along the route and possibly another lumber mill. The line with end at a good sized town with a large paper mill. I still need to add real crossings and add grass to the sections shown in the pics.
Right now I'm using quite a few different types of pine trees. It looks good, but performance is suffering. Anybody know of any good looking pine trees that won't kill the fps?
I'm also looking for more logging / lumber / pulp / paper industries if anybody knows of any good ones. Hell, there might even be some built in to 09 that I haven't found yet.
Thanks!
