USLW MKT GP40-2 errors.

I recently downloaded the USLW MKT GP40-2 (and the MILW GP40-2) and had some issues with it. The first being the dynamic brake fans (which I solved easily) and the second was two errors labeled:

"VE40: Unable to load primary image 'mesh_body/gp40a.texture' for texture file 'mesh_body/gp40a.texture.txt'."
and
"VE40: Unable to load primary image 'mesh_body/gp40b.texture' for texture file 'mesh_body/gp40b.texture.txt'."

I don't know how or why this is showing up, so I'd like to ask you guys to help me out. Thank you!

Not sure, but check that the .texture.txt files are pointing to .tga or .bmp image files and not .texture files?

I'll check to see if I have those uploaded in the game and see what I had to do to get them to show up in the game as I had the same problem but figured it out after a couple of beers and to make sure what is the KUID # which will help as I have a few already upload and it's been many moons ago.

If you're talking about the GP40-2, here it is: <kuid2:98966:100071:1>

Look for .tga or .bmp files with the same names and change the .texture to .tga or .bmp within the texture.txt file. For example, "gp40a.texture" should be "gp40a.tga".

It is interesting because I also recently downloaded same loco and I have no VE40 errors at all in my TANE. On the other side TANE reports VE132, VE17, VE65, VE165 and VE168 errors and VE48, VE82, VE62, VE39, VE109 and VE94 warnings for the loco. Using AssetX and repair textures option removed all the errors except VE17 and VE132 which are related to the one of the attachment points for 10 blades fan which I suppose to be not needed on this loco.

Problem is, there is no .tga/.bmp with the same name and there are no .texture.txt's or anything like that! I tried ADDING new .texture.txt's and it gave me MORE errors alongside the same VE40 errors. I did find gp40a.bmp and gp40b.bmp but they were for a VMD GP40-2.

That should be the Dynamic Brake fan which is easily removable.

If this gets too out of hand, anyone with a fixed MKT GP40-2 could you please send it over?

The .texture files need to be converted to .tga files. you need PEV's Image2TGA program, which is available on shaneturner's website. Go ahead and grab PEV's PM2IM, Attachment Maker, QuickShadows, and Trainz Mesh Viewer programs while you're there. They come in handy with fixing faulty content.

HOLY SHOOT IT ACTUALLY WORKED! Thank you! PEV sure is a genius with his awesome programs! With this acquired knowledge I'm gonna fix my MILW GP40-2.
