Software such as Trainz is normally intended for private, non-commercial use. Has Auran ever established a policy for using Trainz in non-commercial yet public places such as in museums? I'm asking as it would seem to be an attraction to some visitors, especially is used with enhancements such as RailDriver or the like. I would hope that Auran would not care as long as Trainz was appropriately credited. Trainz could also be sold in museum gift stores, and sales would presumably be boosted by any use of Trainz within the museum. Anyway, anyone know of any history along this line?

Don't know of anything but a credible idea.
When I was buikding my reproduction of the famed Glasgow tramway closed in 1962 it ook me nearly three years. I wrote to the City Council Dept that looked after our transport mueum (it has trams there too) and got a standard postcard to say someone would be in touch. I didn't expect an answer and didn't get one. However now I am tidying up wee bits here and there it is my intention of writing direct to the man who is the tram custodian instead. There are 2 videos of the actual tramway on sale there but I would think that the chance to drive a tram (thanks to Silversmith we have the whole range of different Glasgow trams) would be hands on fun. Especially as this city had the largest tramway outside London and was so much part of our history.

If you are involved with a museum that would be interested in setting up a simulator using Trainz (using keyboard, a raildriver, or if you are planning to attempt a full 'cab' simulator), then please contact the helpdesk, so that we can discuss this further with you.
We are interested in seeing Trainz in more museums (it's already in use by the Deltic Preservation Society, and the Workshops Rail Museum in Ipswich in Queensland, and possibly others), and as such will be happy to discuss this further.

Actually the shoe is on the other foot ... If I took my PC to the local shopping mall and showed it at the hobby shoppe, or at the Altoona RR Memorial Museum, or the RR Mueum Of PA ... a "no solicitation" of merchandise/goods would be allowed without the museums prior appoval.
