LoudTrain

We have several train toys at our house: a Brio, one with bright plastic track, one with black plastic track and a blue roadway, and an HO-scale Christmas train. The one with the yellow track is the loudest, and when my grandson Gabriel was 3 (he's now 8), he used to call it the LoudTrain. The one with the black track as the QuietTrain. The HO-scale one was the ItmasTrain. For some reason, the grandkids (now there are 3 of them) never play with the Brio -- perhaps because it makes no noise.

Anyhow, I chose the name LoudTrain for myself.

You haven't heard from me lately because I went back to grad school in the fall of 2006. I knew I didn't have the discipline to keep up with both my studying and my modeling, so I de-installed TRAINZ. But as soon as I get my diploma (15 June 2009!!!), I'll be back to finish my Monon model. Meanwhile, I still read the forum once or twice a week to "keep current."

The 'insulfrog' point/turnout is the type of point/turnout used in the model railway industry (especially Hornby) where the points 'V' are made out of plastic, not metal. This gives the point/turnout 'self iscolating' capabilities. This type of point/turnout gave me the idea of my username that I use in nearly everything that I register to, since I like 'insulfrog' points/turnouts and model railways, hence my username 'insulfrog' :) .

My username all has to do with well, a certain locomotive....LOL

Big_Boy :- Name of locomotive

I got my name, saintjimmy, from a character/song on Green Day's American Idiot album (yes, i'm a fan! :o ), and am in no way a saint named jimmy, in case any were curious :)

Also, my most popular names around cyberspace are: saintjimmy, saintjimmy13, and saintjimmy14.
I think the only reason I have the number names are for "backup", when saintjimmy is already taken. 13 is for when I registered/signed up when I was 13, now it's 14 for 14 yrs old, and next year, it'll be up to 15! :p

I forgot Somthing in my Last post.

My name came from my first name Jimmy (legal James) and the first letter of my last name (Patterson) and the 4 is how old i was when i started using it.

My story is that I have an undying love of trains I have studied them ever since I was five (11-12 years) and I talk about them so much that someone said at some point in time I was "mad" about trains. So I thought that that would be a good user name, mad_railman, the 91 just comes from when I was born, speak of the devil My birthday lands on a train show in South Bend at the Century Center and here is a link to the thread about it http://forums.auran.com/trainz/showthread.php?t=25440

Cascaderailroad

"Cascade" because all the letters are in the same general area of the keyboard (easy to type with one finger). However the "Cascade Tunnel", and Cascade's mountains are an interesting area. There are 3 or more dormant volcano's there, and some of the landscape looks scarred like the moon, or mars. Nice RR photo location too ! I was going to lay two 40' sections of rail, on ties in my backyard, and apply for federal grant subsidies for RR track improvements, claiming "Cascade Railroad" to be an "official railroad". But I don't think it's legal ! Perhaps adding a PRR N5C caboose would help !

Well mine cam about form a TV show, school, and a camping trip.

Growing up, err now, one of my favorite TV shows was Ed, Edd & Eddy. In one episode Ed, the not to bright one, had an imaginary friend named Jib. A few days after I saw that episode I went on a family camping trip. My family went with some friends who son had the same name as me, Zack. So I said, "Just call me Jib for now."

A few years later I was setting up my XBox Live account and need a name. I though back to Jib and tried that. It said the name was taken but gave me a few options, most with numbers I would never remember. So I looked around my room for any ideas. Then I looked in my wallet to see my student ID card for my school. My ID number was 228, so my gamer tag became Jib228.

And now 5 years later I use Jib228 on many sites and many games. But most people drop the 228 and just call me Jib.

I chose my user name because my name is ben and the numbers seemed like a good set of running number for me.:D

Plus I can put the numbers into the locomotive that I drive.

And now my avatar relates to it as well.

I chose Spiffy101 since for all of my school functions, I would overdress. My friends began calling me spiffy on those days and the nickname stuck.

titaniclover

My name originated from a long time ago with a long story.

It all started in third grade when I came home and found a show on the history channel about a ship called Britannic.

Now this might sound screwed up but it said the Titanic at a point in the show and explained about its disaster. I got interested in that.

For background info if you dont know:

The Titanic was part of a project by White Star Line. Cunard Line, released a two new ships called the Muratania and the Lusitania. They could travel across the sea to New York in less that 5 days. White Stars owner J.Bruce Ismay decided to build 3 new ships that would be the most luxurious ships ever to float. They were named Olympic, Titanic, and Gigantic.

Olympic was completed first. Titanic was soon launched shortly after. But Olympic collided with another ship and had to be repaired. Titanic was being refitted at the dry dock but there wasnt another dry dock big enough for these ships so Titanic's madien voyage was set for April 10, 1912.

Olympic survived until 1935 when she was scraped and deemed no longer profitable. Titanic we all know struck an iceberg and sank. But this is where the Gigantic comes in. White Star decided to rename the ship to Britannic because of the Titanic disaster.

So, now back this point of this thread.:hehe: My name is really two different words I put together. Titanic and lover. (titaniclover)

Yes, yes, I know. I'm a Titanic lover Besides, britanniclover and olympiclover didnt sound too good anyways.:hehe:
So thats my story...with a bit of history too.

Cheers,
Adam
