Michael_Evans

thread killer
I've seen some pretty interesting usernames and just wanted to know what made you choose yours? As you can guess mine is my name ( Michael_Evans, Michael Evans )

Bird watching is my other hobbie. My wife and I help at Hawk Mountain here in my county in Eastern PA. Accipiters are a small hawk. The 777 is no relevence to anything.

Mine goes back to 1975 when I needed a CB "handle". When in the (US) Navy I worked on the E-2A Hawkeye which had the un-official nick name of Super Fudd. I thought of using Hawkeye but, thanks to M.A.S.H. the frequencies were already saturated with Hawkeyes and ,besides, I wanted folks to think of the E-2A, not Alan Alda so I went with Super Fudd.
When I got into internet forums and such I became SuperFudd, smarter than a speeding bullet, faster than a tall building, able to leap...OOPS!

i also have all usernames: mikey186,mikey4321,mjh186, & mjh4321-Michael Harris. that's my real name: Michael Harris. and my trainz username: mikey186. Plus, my nickname is "Expo" or "Exposition".

Wile E. Coyote... Super Genius...

Mine is rather self explaining if you happened to know me in person (and only one person here actually does), I am often prone to weird accidents and mishaps. Sometimes caused by myself but othertimes I somehow just end up in the thick of the plot. I often play amusing pranks on my brother using his large collection of Beanie Baby parrots, though often I find my room looking like the contents of an unusually large dumpster afterwards:hehe:. Another reason is because I do eat almost anything and Wile E. Coyote happens to be my favorite cartoon character (though I would probably vote for Daffy Duck if he ran for Congress).

WileeCoyote:D

Care to expound on that? :hehe:

My username comes from the very first forum I joined, a not-train-related webcomic forum. I wanted a handle that I could use anywhere on the net that had a nice ring to it. I was going to go with "The Ferroequinologist," but that was way too long for normal people to try to type out (and we are not normal people here!). I happened to be in the chemistry lab at the time, and I noticed the list of common cations and anions. I noticed that Iron was listed as having two common cation forms: Iron II and Iron III. Underneath these variations there were old, unused names for them coming from Latin: Ferrous (for Iron II) and Ferric (for Iron III) (for anyone who doesn't have a clue what that it, just pretend that you do :hehe: ). I chose Ferrous because it was almost a shortening of "Ferroequinologist," and I just kinda liked the way it sounded.
Ever since, it's become my default handle (unless it's taken, like on Youtube or Gmail).

*Whew!* That's the most I've ever written in one go on this forum!

Mine goes back a couple years.
My first company car was a Wolkswagen Caddy, God i loved that car.
We went trought several harsh winters together, and she never let me down.
Pulled what ever i attached to her coupling, never complained.
Didnt mather if it was an empty trailer, or a two ton excavator

The second part is my actuall name.

So by the time i should register at Auran, All my other option were already taken.

So it became Caddylars, just to honor my 4 wheeled baby:hehe:

My own is a combination of two threads. In both cases the "Bid" comes from my name - the full version of this I don't post on the web because it's fairly unusual so I'd be easy to find, which really I don't want.

The second half stems from one of my friends trying to convert me into a mod (as in, not a rocker) so in that respect I did it to shut him up for a week or so about the issue. For the record, I am a little moddish, but I don't really belong to any musical following.

Anyway, the other thing in respect to the second half is that at around the same time, a group of three of us set up a small forum, mostly to prove to ourselves that we could do it. It parallels this forum in many ways - people were never happy, and just complained about the moderating decisions, complained about the rules to protect dial-up users, complained that we banned porn, and then we just decided the close it). Intriguingly [sp?] the same users then complained to us that their human rights were being abused because we'd restricted their freedom of speech, and that we should replace the board. But for some reason this didn't happen. Probably a combination of us not wanting to, the claim being inaccurate, and Tom the Administrator telling the person in question to "F#k off" - bet you see how nice these guys are now.

So the Mod part came from Moderator, but because of the alternative reason I kept it after the board I moderated disbanded. I like to thing that I learned a lot from the experience though, and I have a lot of sympathy with the great people behind this community. Big thanks to you.

On a side note, you may find that I often use the term collapsed to describe my old forum, because in reality the forum was not healthy towards the end - malicious users just spammed it with rule-breaking posts, and we decided that we couldn't be bothered any more and closed down - like I said, mess these guys around and they'll just walk away, and I wouldn't criticise them for doing so.

BidMod.

I chose Rayonier because it is my favorite lumber company, it operated a fleet of 2-6-6-2 mallets up until 1964. Rayonier 110 is still operating on The Black Hills Railroad

I started out using the name "Sabre" because I was uhh 5 years old and loved the saber-toothed tigers...then it became General Chaos because I kind of just felt like it. A few years after General Chaos started, I began playing a game called Natural Selection, and changed to Spawn of Chaos to fit the alien theme of the game. Very recently (in fact after I joined this forum) I switched to just plain old Kaos, the archaic spelling of Chaos.

In fact, I sent a message to Helpdesk asking that my name be changed lol...

I'm not sure why I went for GreatEastern. I suppose its a combination of having lived most of my life in East Anglia and having worked on a preserved ex-Great Eastern Railway line. Either way I took out the space in the middle to create a username that I use everywhere on the net know, partly because in general it hasn't been taken in most places and partly because its how I choose to brand my site and creations.

Mine is a combination of my last name (Goodell) and the USA Emergency Services telephone number (911): Goodell911

I've been a Paramedic since 1985, a Firefighter since 2001 and Fire Chief since 2005; hence the use of "911."

I also use the nickname "GAURC" for my roadname and website, the "Great American Underground Railway Co."
